How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're gonna take a look at the Kat NV 2.0 on our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Now this is gonna be more specific for your 1500 Sierra. If you want a little bit more in depth on the rack itself, we do have a full review, but this is just gonna be how it interacts with the back of the truck and some key features. The NV 2.0 is a wheel-mounted bike carrier, so that means it's not gonna make any contact with the frame, just at the front and rear wheel. The capacity for this is super solid. So it's gonna work for your super light road bikes that have carbon fiber frames with the no contact, as well as going all the way up to your 60-pound E-bikes. more

Swagman E-Spec 2-Electric Bike Platform Rack Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack on our 2019 GMC Acadia. This bike rack is gonna be great for carrying those extra heavy electric bikes as you can carry up to 70 pounds per bike. It's also gonna be great if you have a motor home fifth wheel travel trailer, or if you wanna flat tow this on your journeys as well. It's gonna be made out of a steel construction, so it's gonna be very durable, lasts a long time, and it's finished with a black powder coat, making it rust resistant. Since we are being held on by the frame mount, it's not gonna be great for your carbon frame style bikes as it might work or damage the frame. Something to keep in mind. more

Swagman E-Spec 2-Electric Bike Platform Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
How's it going, everyone It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman E-Spec two-bike platform bike rack on our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. First thing we need to do is install the bike rack itself, which we'll just start by putting our shank into the receiver here, doing our best to line up the holes as we can. Once we've done our best to align the hitch pin hole with the hole on our receiver tube, we can start to thread our anti-rattle bolt into it. Most of these anti-rattle bolts including this one, we should be able to hand thread a pretty good portion of the way, but you might have to lift up and down on the actual bike rack to do so. If you start forcing the threads in with your socket wrench, eventually after multiple uses, you can start to unthread the actual anti-rattle bolt. more

Saris MHS 2 Bike Rack Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Seris MHS modular bike rack on a 2019 GMC Acadia. Because of the double tire hold, this bike rack can accommodate a lot of different kinds of bikes, especially your carbon frames and those with a custom paint job, pretty much the only kind would be those with a fender and it does have a tilt away feature, which is awesome. The only problem is with our long handlebars here. Our hatch is going to make contact at about right here but we can just take the bike off to be able to access that. We are gonna have three attachment points, a strap for the front tire and then two of the wheel mounts. To take the bike off, we're gonna start with the strap and just get that out of the way. more

Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima RidgeBack Hitch Bike Rack and how it fits on our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The RidgeBack is gonna be a hanging-style bike rack, which means it holds onto our bikes primarily with the top tube right here, and it's got one anti-sway cradle here in the back, which helps keep some of that movement out of the case, but as with most hanging-style bike racks, you're gonna get a little bit of that back and forth movement. And you'll notice here that this front tire is free swinging, so I definitely recommend picking up some sort of stabilizing strap to keep that in place. But it does have the ability to hold four bikes up to 40 pounds a piece. Got a couple cool features that we'll check out throughout the video, so let's get to it. more

Inno Tire Hold 2 Bike Platform Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Inno Tire Hold Hitch Bike Rack and how it fits on our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The Tire Hold is a two-bike platform-style bike rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 60 pounds a piece. It's gonna hold on to them with this dual wheel mount design, so one of these hoops on either side is gonna hold onto one of either tire. That's the only way that it's gonna hold on, so it doesn't make any frame contact. If you want to get your carbon frame bikes or alternative frame bikes on here, you can, if you have an e-bike that's gonna come in at that less than 60 pound weight capacity, that will fit too. more

The Hitching Post Pro is a four bike hanging style bike rack. It's going to hold our bike primarily by the frame using these two cradles and the anti-sway cradle right here. Because it does make primary contact by the frame, we don't recommend using this bike rack with something like a carbon frame bike because it could potentially damage that while it's driving. Additionally, if you have a woman's alternative or any sort of kid's bike, you might have to pick up a bike adapter bar to make that work. more

So, if you do have a carbon frame bike we would recommend not using a bike rack like this, 'cause it does have the potential to damage the frame while you're driving. This is a pretty entry level bike rack so it doesn't have some of the features that some more premium might offer like the ability to tilt away with the bike loaded. So, if we wanna get into the hatch of our vehicle we are gonna have to get the bike off. more

Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Rack Review - 2023 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Hey its Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman Chinook two-bike rack on the back of our 2023 GMC Yukon XL. It is a two-bike platform style bike rack that's gonna make primary contact on our frame here using these paddock frame hooks And because it does put that pressure down on our frame. We don't recommend using carbon frame bikes with these just cause it could potentially be damaged while you're driving. It's one of the more entry level bikes that have a couple of features like tilting it away and folding it up and it still offers that weight capacity of 45 pounds, which is nice. Two tilted away, you have to reach back here to this lever so if you do have both bikes loaded up it might be a little bit tricky to get to, but you released that the bike rack tilts and we found that we get plenty of clearance to get into the back of our vehicle From there. more

Hi, John with eTrailer. Today we got a 2022 GMC Sierra. We are looking at the Hollywood Racks Destination Platform 2 Bike Rack On a platform style bike rack like this, you're gonna have the tires sitting in these grooves here. The frame is gonna be secured on this mass by the cradle so you actually have three attachment points you have on the frame and then you have one on each tire that secures it. Now, with the way that this mounts, this isn't gonna be a good option for some of your carbon frame bikes. And with a 35 pound weight capacity, it's not gonna be suited for your e-bikes or some of your heavier trail bikes. more

We're gonna hold onto our bikes primarily by these rotated padded clamps on the center mast and two straps down at the bottom. Because it does use these padded clamps on the frame, you're not gonna want to use this bike rack with something like a carbon frame bike cause it could potentially take some damage to the frame while you're driving. It should work okay for most alternative frame bikes but you might have to get a little bit creative. more

Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2 Electric Bike Platform Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
Hey everyone, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE on our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. So the first thing we need to do is to get the rack itself installed, which is pretty straightforward with this rack, what we do is slide the shank into the receiver. There's a built-in collar around the shank, which will stop us where we need to, to make sure our pins are aligned. And once this collar is lined up, the pinhole should be lined up as well. So we just slide this through and put our lock on the end of it. more

This gonna be a good entry level way for you to get up to four bikes where you need 'em to go. Bike rack allows a weight capacity of up to 35 pounds per bike, so nothing crazy. And it will hold onto our bike primarily through these padded clamps that are able to move up and down our center mast as well as they ratchet and rotate around 360 degrees to accommodate for a couple of different frames, styles, and sizes. But we definitely recommend that you, if you have a carbon frame bike, you don't use it with this rack because it will make frame contact and it could potentially damage your frame as you're driving. more

Swagman Current 2 Electric Bikes Rack Review - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
How's it going, everyone It's Ethan here with etrailer. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman CURRENT eBike Rack on the back of our 2022 GMC Sierra. The first thing we're gonna need to do is get the actual rack into the hitch. We have a 1 1/4 shank here, with our two-by-two-inch adaptive sleeve that fits into our 2-inch receiver tube. We found that once you basically line up the adapter sleeve with the outside of the receiver tube, then your pinhole will probably be lined up pretty okay. If It's not, you just can just wiggle it up and down a little bit till you get to where you need it to go. more

Saris Door County 2 Electric Bike Rack Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video

Now the Door County is going to be a platform style rack, holding the bike down in these trays with two wheel straps and primarily holding it upright with this clamp around the frame here, that is gonna mean that our carbon frame bikes we're probably gonna wanna avoid just because we do have some pretty big frame contact and it's clamping down on that frame. So we don't want to damage it. But with the way this attaches down here rather than like a hook on the top tube, I think our alternative frame bikes are gonna be just fine. more

Hey everyone, Charles here at trailer. And today we're taking a look at the Hollywood Sport Rider SE bike rack on our 2016 GMC Sierra 2500. This bike rack is gonna be great for carrying those extra heavy electric bikes because you can carry up to 80 pounds per bike. I think it's one of the largest weight capacity bike racks that we have to offer. If you had a custom paint job or a carbon fiber bike that you wanted to bring along, this might not be the best option for you since it is a frame mount but for that extra peace of mind, if you really had to take it, there's a foam padding on the hooks themselves and then an extra even softer foam padding on the hooks. It's gonna be made out of steel. more

And then from here, we can go ahead and push on this gray button, swing that out of the way, and then keeping one hand on the frame, so it doesn't fall on your vehicle, we can now push on this gray button, and get that out of the way, and now our bike is free. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Inno Tire Hold bike rack on a 2019 GMC Acadia. This bike rack is gonna be great for holding a lot of different kinds of bikes because it is being held on by both of the tires. So your carbon frame, your custom paint job bikes are gonna be great on this bike rack. Pretty much just those with a fender probably wouldn't work well for you. But we're gonna have 60 pounds of weight capacity per bike. And it does tilt away, but unfortunately, on our Acadia here, it does not make clearance past these longer handle bars right here. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 GMC Sierra 2500- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa bike rack on a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500. This is a great bike rack. It accommodates a lot of different styles of bikes, but one quick disclaimer, on the Sierra here, we have a two and a half inch hitch with an adapter to reduce it down to two inches. And the self-tensioning system that Kuat has in the Sherpa, it's self-tensioning to the adapter, instead of the actual hitch. So we are gonna have some play in there, but if you wanna stick around and hear some of the features, we'll get right into that. We are gonna have 40 pounds of capacity per bike. more

This is gonna be a great bike rack to use to transport your bikes of up to 45 pounds each. Since it is a frame mount, you probably wouldn't use this on a carbon frame style bike, but it is gonna be made out of steel, so it's gonna be very durable and last a long time, and it's finished with a black powder coat, making it rust resistant. One of the great features about this rack is that it does tilt away using this lever on the back. We can still keep our bikes on the rack without having to take them off, and be able to access our hatch to grab our helmets, waters, whatever we need for our bike ride. We're gonna hear it snap back into place and that's how we know it's secure. more

So the GMC Acadia actually has a pretty good ground clearance with its factory hitch. So what then happens is when you wanna carry your extra heavy electric bikes, you're gonna have to lift those heavy electric bikes pretty high up to get them onto the bike rack.
